Keen photographers, aspiring amateur
‘snappers’ and outback adventurers will love this innovative new photographic
safari from Australian Adventure Travel.
The 15-day educational adventure, beginning and ending in Broome, will take in
all the famous icons such as Mitchell Falls, Bungle Bungles (Purnululu) and the
Gibb River Road.
The safari will also provide daily, hands-on photographic tuition by
professional photographer, Ben Knapinski, who specialises in landscape images of
the area, has published several books and has an international following. (Check
out Ben’s website at
www.bjk.com.au to see more of his photographs.)
Ben will provide personalised advice on such subjects as composition, lighting,
timing, subject matter, apertures, types of film, getting the best performance
from your equipment and more. Recognised as one of the world’s most scenic
wilderness areas, the Kimberley offers some of Australia’s best photographic
opportunities. Under Ben’s guidance, tour participants are guaranteed to get
some fantastic shots, whether they use manual, digital, or even ‘happy-snap’
cameras!
Ben’s 11 million pixel digital SLR camera has the ability to replicate
everyone’s shots out in the field for discussion round the campfire each night.
In addition, Australian Adventure Travel plans to arrange a public exhibition of
the photos at the conclusion of the trip.
Says Ben, "You can never stop learning how to find and capture beauty in nature.
Photography has changed my awareness and appreciation of the world around me and
I love sharing my knowledge and experience with others.”
The Kimberley Colours Safari runs from June 21- July 5,
2004.
Travel is in a specially-equipped air-conditioned safari coach and
accommodation is ‘comfortable camping’ in pre-constructed camps. No hassle with
putting up/taking down tents so more time to take that perfect picture! All
catering is provided (three meals a day plus morning/afternoon tea) and the tour
will be accompanied by a professional Safari Guide and support staff. Cost of
